Under the Direction of Coach Sandy Holliman, this is the 13th Season of the West Alabama Juniors-Purple Storm Travel (Club) Ball. We are very proud of the success our girls have had with our organization. We operate under SRVA (Southern Region Volleyball Association).
The base cost will be between $300 and $600 depending on age groups and the number of tournaments. This covers the tournament entry fees and practice times for all tournaments. Each player is responsible for their travel expenses to tournaments, lodging and meals during the competition. Some of the tournaments are Saturdays only and others may be Saturdays and Sundays.
You will be required to purchase two game shirts which we order through the club to get discount prices. You will need to have a good set of ankle braces, knee pads, good volleyball shoes, and, of course, playing shorts.
Practices will be held at Trinity Church of God Recreational Center, 2945 County Road 26, Fayette, AL 35555, Fayette County High School, Fayette Middle School and Northside High School (for one of our Tuscaloosa County area teams). Practice dates and times will be decided when tryouts have been completed and the teams are established. This depends on the number of players and age groups. The cost for younger age groups will be adjusted according to the number of practices and tournaments played.
Our volleyball club exists to provide area athletes with an opportunity to play the game of volleyball and to ensure that the players are actually trained to become better volleyball athletes.
They will be well educated with the training principles necessary to continue their growth in the game as they graduate to higher levels of play.
We aspire to build both the educational and skill foundation for volleyball athletes to become the best they are capable of becoming – in sport and beyond.
At the same time our coaches bring to the court a contagious love of the game. We understand that learning occurs best when our athletes look forward to practice, have fun in the gym and trust that their coaches care deeply for them and for their success.
Along with the technical aspects of volleyball, players learn life skills such as teamwork, conflict resolution and fair play while developing confidence in a fun, challenging and game-like environment!
Expectations:
All players must demonstrate a willingness to be coached and to remain open-minded to new ideas and techniques.
Players should strive to give their best effort at every practice and tournament. Players are expected to be a contributing member of the team on and off the court.
Players and families are expected to make a sincere effort to have the athlete at every practice, tournament, and club event.
Players and families are expected to be respectful and supportive of their coaches, their teammates, officials, and opponents. Inappropriate behavior by anyone is not accepted nor tolerated.
Looking Forward to another Great Season!
